Something is off somewhere, I cannot pin point where exactly but I feel like something is definitely off.

Main casts in their costume.

The man that plays Shinpachi was Phillip one half of Kamen Rider W. He's quite popular now apparently, he stars in Death Note too.

The adaption on the looks (hair color, eyes, costumes) pretty decent. Unfortunately I don't get Ginpachi vibe from Shun.

p/s: Anyone watch Death Note new live action film? Is it any good? I hate the first 2 films.

I have no idea why there are suddenly a torrent of live-action projects being green lit in Japan.

FMA

From the look of the cast Al most likely be CG, I guess that'll be easier than practical effect. The guy they cast for Ed is not really that short 5'5" (I looked at the still) so I guess the rest of the cast member will be considerable taller than he is. His height is important in plot if they want to take it further or they can just gloss over it.

Tokyo Ghoul

Mmkay. Masataka Kubota the man that plays Kaneki looks old for the role though, he's 28 yo.

Gintama

This is one project that made me immediately said "not gonna be good". Out of all manga/anime in Japan they picked Gintama for life action? It's not that Gintama is not good but more like it comics (as in comedy) don't work in real life, well at least I feel that way. They can go for the more serious arch but even that is very difficult to pull off.

...or to be precise, compilation of art from anime adapted from manga.

I'm looking forward to April because of Gintama anime and Heroic Legend of Arslan anime (I just hope i have time to watch them). Arslan especially since it has dedicated website and twitter, I feel like I get to see real-time update of the progress of anime behind the scenes. I also found out there are many magazines do a spread of pin-up for Arslan anime. I wonder if anytime in the future there will be a book with all of these arts because I feel like buying a magazine only for a spread or pinup is a waste of money. I found extract of the page/pinup in yahoo auction selling at much cheaper price than buying a magazine but if I were to buy them I still have to pay for commission and etc. Beside I've changed, now I'm more cautious about spending money on books (art of my 2015 resolution)

I know that other manga adapted to anime like Kuroshitsuji has anime "artbook" (although I do not know the content) but Kuroshitsuji is by Square Enix and is known to publish a lot of artbooks (FMA - 3 artbooks, Soul Eater - 2 artbooks, Nobari no Ou artbook, Kuroshitsuji, Pandora Hearts etc). Arslan is publish by Kodansha and the only artbook by Kodansha that I know of is Fairy Tail. I have no Idea of how anime artbook works but it will definitely involve the copyright holder Kodansha (and respective author/writer). Can I be hopeful that someday compilation of anime artwork will be publish and of course I also want Arakawa Arslan artbook (a must!) in the future too.
